In 1855 Utah, there's trouble between the settlers and the Shoshone tribe. The wife of Chief Washakie (Means) dreams that a wolf threatens the tribe and a young blond warrior saves them. So the chief sends Moragoni (Martinez) to find the boy. Moragoni meets 15-year-old settler Nicolas Wilson (Heron) and believes him to be the dream warrior and Nicolas agrees to live with the Shoshone and learn their ways. But eventually, Nicolas must choose between his real and adopted families. Based on "The White Indian Boy" by Elijah Nicolas, which was inspired by actual events.
