Troubles Movie Review 1988

In 1919, Major Brendan Archer arrives on the coast of Wicklow, Ireland to be reunited with his fiancee, Angela Spencer, at the family hotel, the decaying Majestic. Brendan is puzzled by the changes in both the hotel and Angela and begins to turn his interests to her friend, Sarah Devlin, who is a passionate Irish nationalist. But volatile Irish politics puts the romance in danger. Based on the 1970 novel by J.G. Farrell.
