Embarassingly bad would-be comedy based on the book "The Little Brothers of St. Mortimer" by John Fergus Ryan. Broth Edgar (Hoskins) is a fake monk, teamed up with illegal immigrant Morales Pittman (Banderas), in a scam involving selling cheap "socks for God." Traveling through Arkansas they meet up with serial killer "The White River Kid" (Bentley), his girlfriend Apple Lisa Weed (Dickens) and her eccentric family, a blind prostitute (Barkin), and a singing, corrupt sheriff (Travis). Not that you'll be interested in any of them.
