Sullen Katie (Wimbles) and her young brother Simon (Swan) arrive to stay with their grandmother Lydia (Mason) in Porter's Point, Newfoundland. Both children are still grieving over the death of their aviator father in a crash four years before. While exploring a remote pond, Katie encounters the ghosts of French airmen Nungesser (Bluteau) and Coli (Monty). In 1927, they left Paris in a biplane on a nonstop trans-Atlantic flight to New York and disappeared. It seems their plane crashed into Porter's Pond and until the plane can be recovered they are doomed to wander its banks. Katie's determined to help, though no one believes her story.
