Women of the Sahel Movie Review 1995

Reports on the hidden female economic infrastructure of Africa and their efforts to self finance small loans or to sell product to wholesalers and exporters. Shows women working in the "informal sector" making peanut oil, extracting salt from earth, and turning gypsum into plaster. Craftswomen make pottery, straw mats, and leather work.
