It's just like "American Psycho"... only much, much worse. Director Uwe Boll, the second worst thing that Germany's ever been responsible for, steals liberally from Bret Easton Ellis and David Fincher's "Se7en" in one of the clumsiest serial killer stories ever put to film. Two cops (Pare and Rubin) suspect that stock broker Tom Merrick (Van Dien) is really the psycho murderer known as the "Monkey Maker." (Worst. Villain. Name. Ever.) So what do they do about it? Not much. Boll's screenplay (He writes too!) is as aimless as friendly fire and just as entertaining. By the time you get to the inexplicable snuff film sequence, you'll be wondering if Boll had a stroke halfway through writing the script.
