Seminal '60s folk singer "Ramblin' Jack" Elliott was born Elliott Adnopoz, son of a Jewish doctor in New York. But bitten by the bug of the romantic West, the young free spirit transformed himself into the spiritual heir of Woody Guthrie who, to a degree, paved the way for Bob Dylan. Along the way he had a wife and family, though he seldom saw them. His daughter Aiyana made this documentary about her father, so strict objectivity is not high on the list of the film's attributes.
