Even by Herzog/Kinski standards, their last collaboration was one wild trip. Kinski is a 19th-century Brazilian bandit, known as Cobra Verde, who finds work as a slave overseer on a sugar plantation. When he impregnates all three of the owner's daughters, he's sent on an impossible mission to re-open the slave trade with a mad African king. Discovering he's being cheated, Cobra Verde trains an army of women to overthrow the king, so he can control the slave trade himself. Based on the novel "The Viceroy of Ouidah" by Bruce Chatwin. German with subtitles.
