Mio in the Land of Faraway Movie Review 1987

Living with his tyrannical grandmother, young Bosse (Pickard) finds himself transported to a magic land where he is known as Mio and finds his father (Bottoms). Compared to similar big-budget Hollywood children's fantasies, this Norwegian/Swedish production features so-so special effects and acting. A very young Christian Bale steals the show as the best friend.
