Well, it's certainly not Lewis, who plays poodle sitter Raymond Phiffier who's in love with rich girl Barbara (St. John). Barbara's imperious mother (Moorehead) is determined to break up the duo and hires Raymond to work at the family department store (hoping he'll be a disaster), instead he becomes a success in his own slapstick way.
