Cable TV critic Terry Thorpe (Macy) is in a panic after accidentally killing one of his girlfriends. Instead of confessing, Terry tries to keep the truth from the cops (Arkin, Pickens Jr.) and his surviving gal pal (Huffman). Then along comes a suspicious PI (Cromwell) with a blackmail scheme. Goofy film noir that gets too complicated. Based on the novel "A Travesty" by Donald E. Westlake.
