Kikujiro Movie Review 1999

Eight-year-old Masao (Sekiguchi) lives with his grandmother. His father is dead and his mother lives in a distant town due to her job. Bored on his summer vacation, the boy decides to visit his mother--accompanied by the tough-guy husband, Kikujiro (Kitano), of a neighbor. Only this guy doesn't have much of an idea about kids and their travels lead to some unpredictable adventures. Clumsy and protracted; Japanese with subtitles.
