Rosie (Coppens) is 13 and is first seen living in an institution for delinquents. Her desperate story is told in flashbacks as the girl grows up in industrial Antwerp in a cramped apartment with her mother, Irene (de Roo), who insists Rosie say they are sisters when men come to visit, which they do frequently. When her moocher Uncle Michel (Vercruyssen) arrives, Rosie is even kicked out of her bedroom. It's no wonder she escapes into a romantic dreamworld she shares with a would-be boyfriend, Jimi (Wijnant), and the dangerous turn her real life takes. Flemish with subtitles.
