When the Sky Falls Movie Review 1999

Gritty bio loosely focuses on the last years of crusading Dublin journalist Veronica Gerin, who was murdered in 1996. Sinead Hamilton (Allen) has angered Dublin politicians, the IRA, police, and crime bosses with her investigation into the city's drug scene. She ticks off bad guy Dave Hackett (Flynn) and even tough detective Mackey (Bergin) tries to warn her but threats only make Hamilton more determined to do her expose.
