Sci-fi thriller vibrates with impending doom. A 40-year war results in an uneasy peace between two rival factions. Guard Leo (Phelps) has gone a little loopy after the death of his wife and is assigned to patrol the remote outpost of Zone 39, where a severe contamination is spreading. Thanks to the illegal drug Novan that Leo keeps taking, he's also experiencing flashbacks of his wife and other ghostly figures. The spectacularly desolate setting is a dry salt lake located in Woomera, Australia.
