Twentysomething Nick Parker (Thomas) is a struggling artist living in a Brooklyn tenement and fighting a losing battle to keep both his physical health and his sanity. Neither are helped when his landlord's murder leads to a police investigation; a suspicious new tenant moves into the apartment above Nick's; and Nick realizes that he's been sleepwalking. Since the film is told from his fractured point-of-view, the viewer can never be sure just what's real.
