Holiday Heart Movie Review 2000

Macho big man Rhames may not be the first actor to spring to mind to play a drag queen but he does a fine job in this melodramatic adaptation of the play by West. Holiday Heart (Rhames) comes to the rescue of ex-addict Wanda (Woodard) who has a 12-year-old daughter, Niki (Reynolds), and lousy taste in men. Wanda just can't make that final break with her dealer boyfriend Silas (Williamson), even though it leads to her sliding back into crack addiction and means that Heart has to draw on his maternal skills to give Niki a stable home.
