Origins of Film Movie Review 2000

The purpose of this collection is to make available works that many viewers may never have heard of. Two parts of the collection--African American Cinema and First Women Filmmakers--have never been seen widely. Some of the films have been thought lost for years. As a group, the level of quality is very good. Wavering distortion and signs of wear are apparent throughout, but great care has been taken to be sure that the films were transferred to disc at the proper projection speed. The originals come from the Library of Congress.
