This Josie and company have almost as many dimensions as the cartoon from whence they came. Simple plot has Josie's band looking for their big break when record company exec Wyatt Frame, looking for a new sound, spots our heroines and remakes them as teen sensations. Wyatt is partnered with Fiona (Posey, chewing scenery like a starving dog in an Alpo factory) in a scheme to use pop music to control the minds of teens. Basically harmless parody of the pop music biz chokes on its own product-placing hypocrisy, but gets by on the obvious charms of leads Cook, Reid, and Dawson.
