Li is Chinese super-cop Liu who is sent to Paris to help stop a Chinese drug lord. Once there, he learns that the cop, Richard (Karyo), he was sent to help is actually running the drug ring, and has set Liu up for the dealer's murder. Fonda is the hooker/addict who helps Lui in order to free herself and her daughter from Richard. Spectacular action sequences, as well as Li's martial art skills and charisma more than make up for a pretty lame script which is little more than connective tissue anyway. Besson and Li co-produced the feature debut of director Nahon, who comes from the video/commercials world.
