Neill (who skipped JP2) is back as Dr. Alan Grant, reluctantly leading a seach-and-rescue mission when a plane crash-lands on an island populated by his old nemeses, the dinos. Another new dinosaur species, the Spinosaurus, shows up and to make some more humans into snack food. The talented, and probably over-qualified, group of writers mercifully makes this trip a short one, making sure that any dialogue is mostly expository or in-joke amusing while glossing over the dumb-as-a-box-of-fossils plot and characters. The dinosaurs are, once again, impressive, if you haven't gotten enough of the computer-generated ferocity in the first two outings. Warning: Just because this franchise is getting progressively worse doesn't mean they didn't set up JP4.
