Cultural clash and teen relationship troubles all set in the affluent neighborhood of Pacific Palisades. Latino Carlos (Hernandez), from the wrong-side-of-the tracks in East L.A., is going to the rich high school in order to better himself. Nicole (Dunst) is the self-destructive wealthy chick (and congressman's daughter) who shows him that money doesn't buy happiness because she's got troubles, man. Familiar teen flick redeemed somewhat by the lead performances with handsome newcomer Hernandez appealing as a decent guy who's intrigued by willful, misunderstood hottie Dunst.
