Laura Croft (Jolie), the daughter of a British aristocrat/adventurer (Jolie's real-life dad Voight), gives up her upper-crusty life to hunt down ancient treasures that hold the key to controlling time before they fall into the wrong hands. Sounds straightforward enough, right? Maybe it once was but too much tinkering results in a muddled story and foggy details that do, however, divert your attention away from the cheesy dialogue and flimsy characters. Stunning sets and visuals, along with Jolie's "let's have some fun" attitude go a long way toward making this disappointment more entertaining than it probably should be.
