Rookie L.A. cop Brian (Walker) goes undercover to infiltrate a street gang that adapts sports cars for illicit street racing and other, even less legal, uses. But first he has to earn the respect and trust of their leader, Dominic (Diesel), and the love of Dom's sister Mia (Brewster). Dominic is the head of a tight-knit "family" of quirky thieves hopped up on car exhaust and adrenaline, very much in the B-movie tradition of "Gone in 60 Seconds" (the original), "Eat My Dust," and "Grand Theft Auto." And hey, let's face it, kids. That's all this is, a summer B-movie where reality, plot, and dialogue have no place. Diesel does impress (again) in the patriarch-philosopher-thief role.
