Tells the true story of a NASA official (Neill) and his group of local Aussie technicians as they manned the satellite dish responsible for bringing to TV sets around the world man's first footsteps on the moon in 1969. Originally only a backup plan, the Australian dish was called into action when the receiver in California became useless after a change in Apollo 11's flight path. Treats the central, spectacular event itself with dignity and appropriate awe, but also squeezes humor and emotion out of all that leads up to it.
