Well-acted indie with a compelling story that deserves a wider audience. After 15 soul-sucking years as a factory welder in California, Wade Hampton (Pillsbury) decides to just walk away from his life. He picks Jerome, Arizona as his destination because he's heard it has an artists' colony and Wade has secretly been making miniature metal sculptures. So Wade heads out on the highway and encounters restless hitchhiker, Jane (Malick), who has no destination in mind at all. The film is interspersed with interviews with people from Wade's past, so the viewer also anticipates trouble coming for the travelers as well.
