French film continues to push the sexual envelope even when it's inspired by Herman Melville's 1852 novel, "Pierre, or, the Ambiguities." Rich boy Pierre (Depardieu) lives with his beautiful widowed mother, Marie (Deneuve), in a country chateau. He's about to marry his faithful girlfriend, Lucie (Chuillot), when a strange woman named Isabelle (Golubeva) shows up, claiming to be Pierre's half-sister. Soon Pierre is living the grunge life with Isabelle in Paris and the two are involved in an incestuous relationship (some of which is explicitly displayed). Another bizarre film from auteur Carax. French with subtitles.
