Mali--The Salt Caravan Movie Review 2000

For centuries the salt trade has been carried on by nomads in camel caravans in Timbuktu, in Mali. In this documentary the salt miners teach about the qualities of each salt layers and how they build their shelters, while the caravan drivers tell us how they navigate in the desert and how they care for their camels.
