Terry Pratchett's Discworld: Wyrd Sisters Movie Review 1996

It's hard to top the wondrous computer-generated image of a flat planet borne across the cosmos on the back of a titanically huge turtle and supported by four mammoth blue elephants; and nothing in this six-part animated series developed for British TV does come close. But even those who have not read Terry Pratchett's beloved "Discworld" books will find themselves captivated by the story, sly humor and colorful, idiosyncratic characters. The Wyrd Sisters are three witches who become embroiled in palace intrigue after the good king is murdered and they are compelled to raise his infant heir. The distinguished voice cast includes Christopher Lee as a very droll Death and Jane Horrocks as the ditziest of the witch sisters.
