These short films (ranging in length from 5 to 17 minutes) were made between 1969 and '78. There's no unifying theme or style. They're mostly experimental, though they do tell strong stories. "The Firing Range" is a relatively realistic, intelligent sf that might have been an influence on more recent Japanese anime. The films have been well preserved or restored. Contents: "Seasons" (1969), "Ballerina on the Boat" (1969), "Armoire" (1970), "Battle at Kerzhenets" (1971), "Butterfly" (1972), "Island" (1973), "Fox and Rabbit" (1973), "Heron and Crane" (1974), "Hedgehog in the Fog" (1974), "Crane Feathers" (1977), "Firing Range" (1977), and "Contact" (1978).
