For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story Movie Review 2000

Biopic of Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval (Garcia) who stays in Cuba for the sake of wife Marianela (Maestro) and their children, all the while chafing under his artistic restrictions. Finally, his wife agrees to defect and during a tour in Athens, Sandoval asks for political asylum. Both Garcia and Maestro have a believable chemistry but also look for Dutton's portrayal of Dizzy Gillespie, who hired Sandoval for his U.N. Orchestra, allowing the musician to travel abroad.
