The Eyes of Tammy Faye Movie Review 2000

Documentary examines the eventful life of a not-particularly interesting woman, Tammy Faye Bakker Messner. She was most famous for being married to televangelist Jim Bakker when their PTL ministry went belly up. Since much of the story is told through static interviews and TV news footage, the image is nothing special. Neither is the sound, though the choice of RuPaul Charles as narrator is inspired. The film was a hit on the festival circuit, and is recommended to that audience.
