Based (probably very loosely) on the role-playing game of the same name, "D & D" tells the story of the land of Izmer, whose reformer ruler, Empress Savina (Birch), wants to empower the lowly commoners and put them on equal footing with the ruling Mages. An elitist Mage, Profion (Irons, in an obvious pay-the-bills role) wants to overthrow her. Luckily, she's aided by young hero Ridley (Whalin) and his sidekick Snails (Wayans). It's hard to decide what's more ridiculous: plot, dialogue, settings, effects, costumes, or the idea that anyone would pay to see this mess. The mere title is enough to turn off anyone who never played the game as a kid, and the target audience will probably nit-pick it to death with "that's not like in the game"-type complaints.
