Hip Hip Hurrah! Movie Review 1987

At the end of the 19th-century, a group of famous painters travel each summer to the northernmost cape of Skagen in Denmark to capture the beauty around them. The most talented of their group is Soren Kroyer (Skarsgard) who has a beautiful wife, Marie (Vieth), and a mistress Lille (Brondum). But his bright surface has a tragic core--Soren's mother was mad, he was born to her in an insane asylum, and he feels his own sanity is slipping away as the very light dims around him. Danish with subtitles.
