Steal This Movie! Movie Review 2000

Bio of anti-war activist and Yippie founder Abbie Hoffman tries to explore the counterculture of the 60s but bites off more than it can chew. Film's fragmented by its structure of using the flashback recollections of Abbie's (D'Onofrio) first wife Anita (Garofalo) and lawyer Gerry Lefcourt (Pollak) to explain the manic and charismatic Hoffman, who wound up spending most of the 70s an underground fugitive and who died a suicide. Garity, who's the son of Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda, plays his activist dad.
