In the days following the bombing of Pearl Harbor rumors abound that Japanese submarines are patrolling the Pacific and four 10-year-old California boys like to pretend they are Marines in search of the Japanese enemy. Imagine their surprise when they discover a Japanese soldier who washed up on the beach and is hiding out in their clubhouse. They keep him their prisoner while trying to decide what to do but when the soldier rescues one of the boys from drowning, the boys decide that they have to save him.
