Remake of Marcel Carne's "Le Journe Se Leve/Daybreak" (1939). WWII vet Joe Adams (Fonda) is having a hard time with civilian life. In fact, he's just killed con man/magician Maximilian (Price) and has barricaded himself from the cops in his apartment. Flashbacks serve to show how Joe got into his present situation (women are involved, naturally). Not too involving.
