Twins sisters Delphine and Solange (played by sisters Deneuve and Dorleac) dream of romance, which first appears in the forms of salesmen Etienne (Chakiris) and Bill (Dale), who are minor distractions for the real thing--artistic sailor Maxence (Perrin) and concert pianist Andy (Kelly). Demy's followup to the more compelling "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" is still an equally candy-colored musical fantasy. Rochefort (like Cherbourg) is an actual town that Demy took over for filming.
