The perils of young, first love are sweetly explored as fatherless seventh-grader Danny (Burke) thinks he's falling in love with best friend, Julie (Tractenberg). His widowed mom (Ticotin) is having her own romantic troubles, so Danny turns for advice to a friendly jazz musician (Macchio).
