Seeing Red Movie Review 1999

British soap opera star Coral Atkins (Lancashire) is doing a charity event in the 1970s at a children's home where she finds the conditions untenable. Having survived a terrible childhood herself, Coral improbably decides to switch careers and open her own home for abused children, though British social bureaucracy thwarts her every decision. Based on Atkins' 1990 memoir.
