Abysmal British comedy was never widely released on this side of the Atlantic and it's easy to see why. The film follows two small-town girls--Brenda (Tushingham), who's mousy and bony, and Yvonne (Redgrave), who's loud and pushy--who come to London at the swinging '60s. Unfortunately, they are two of the most unattractive comic heroines ever to hit the screen, and apparently that's a choice the filmmakers made deliberately. Moreover, their accents are difficult to understand and their voices could blister an elephant's hide.
