Portrait of an Assassin Movie Review 1949

Unhappy with his marriage to a nagging wife (Arletty), carnival daredevil Fabius (Brasseur) goes so far as to tell her that he killed a woman by mistake, thinking it was her. Can this marriage be saved? Before it's over, more infidelity and the paralyzed Eric (the inimitable Von Stroheim) have come into play. French with subtitles.
