Esperanza Diaz (Heredia) is a young Mexican widow whose 12-year-old daughter Blanca (Zapata) has supposedly died, although her mother never saw the child's body. When Esperanza's favorite saint, St. Jude the patron of lost causes, starts appearing to her, she begins a search for her lost child that takes her to the La Casa Rosa brothel in Tijuana. But faith and motherly love will help Esperanza survive anything. Disarmingly innocent film based on the novel by Escandon, who also wrote the screenplay. Spanish with subtitles.
