Under the Sun Movie Review 1998

In 1956, 40-year-old virgin, Olof (Lassgard), lives on his rather rundown farm in western Sweden--his only friend being the younger Erik (Widerberg), who takes advantage of Olof's generosity. Then Ellen (Bergstrom) turns up in answer to Olof's ad for a housekeeper and the unlikely duo become a romantic couple much to Erik's dismay. So he decides to find out what a beautiful city girl is doing on a remote farm. Based on a short story by H.E. Bates. Swedish with subtitles.
