This version sticks to the spirit of Stevenson's story (which was filmed in 1936 as "Trouble for Two") but adds plotlines and characters. It's 1899 and Henry Joyce (Morrissey) has decided to kill himself because of his lover's betrayal. He and pal, Captain May (Shuke), meet the equally suicidal Shaw (Bettany), who takes them along to the Suicide Club. Run by the mysterious Bourne (Pryce), its members willingly want to die--and both the next victim and their murderer are selected by a drawing of the cards. And you aren't allowed to change your mind.
