Jules Verne's 1864 fantasy made its way to cable in this adventurous retelling. Geologist Theodore Lytton (Williams) is hired by wealthy Alice Hastings (Bergen) to find her husband, Casper (Brown), who disappeared seven years earlier during an expedition to a volcano in New Zealand. Lytton and his compatriots descend into deep caverns and discover a tunnel system leading to the planet's center and a new civilization that Hastings has usurped for his own greedy purposes. There's derring-do and even babes in animal-hide bikinis.
