Part culture clash, part melodrama. Teenager Chad (Harper) heads to Inis Dora, a small island off the Irish coast, in order to fulfill his mother Karen's last request--that her ashes be scattered in her homeland. Karen was long estranged from her family and they're shocked to discover that Chad's father is black. Everyone tries to make the best of the situation but Chad's would-be romance with Aislin (McGuckin), whose father Joe (Brosnan) once loved Karen, causes a lot of friction.
