Modern teen Hannah Stern (Dunst) is indifferent to her Jewish faith and reluctant to attend her Aunt Eva's (Fletcher) Passover seder. After getting drunk, she passes out and is mysteriously transported to Poland in 1941, where she and her cousin Rivkah (Murphy) are imprisoned in a concentration camp and Hannah gets a first-hand look at faith and oppression. Pic doesn't play down the Nazi horrors and may not be suitable for the very young. Adapted from Jane Yolen's novel.
