Very loosely based on the life of British composer Peter Warlock (1894-1930) and music critic Philip Heseltine. Heseltine detests Warlock's music, Warlock threatens Heseltine, and Heseltine's fiancee (Bergen) is the girl in the middle. Of course, what's really bizarre is that Warlock is Heseltine's pseudonym. Film does have a nice period look.
