Weird comedy about comatose cartoonist Stu Miley (Fraser), who must escape from his own comic fantasy world in order to return to consciousness after an accident. Monkeybone, a chimp embodiment of a teenager's libido from his "Show Me the Monkey" animated pilot is the focus of the rest of the film as he escapes from the underworld and "steals" Stu's body to romance his awaiting girlfriend (Fonda). Kattan is funny as the organ donor and Turturro, who puts his considerable talent to voicing a monkey, is successful, but one-note libidinous simian humor makes flimsy material for a film. Based on the graphic novel "Dark Town" by Kaja Blackley.
